Special Moments

There were many special moments during the journey. Here are a few which are outstanding in my mind.

* The 13 hour death defying taxi drive through the snowy, icy, blustery cold mountain pass from Srinagar to Jammu. We had the opportunity to share Christ with the taxi driver from a minority community along the way. The road was closed before we started our journey and was closed shortly after we made it through. On the news we heard about people being stranded on the snowy mountains for days in the freezing cold without food and water and of avalanches. It was truly God's grace and the prayers of his people that got us through.

* The morning beach prayer walk in Goa with three local pastors. There was an un-seasonal light rain that morning which they considered to be 'showers of blessing.' One pastor thanked us for coming and said that he was touched to know that someone cared for Goa. Another pastor said that he expected the ruling government of the state to be changed due to the prayer walk and the prayer of local believers and a few days later, it happened, the government was changed to a more favorable one.

* Putting our feet in the ocean at Kanyakumari where 1,000+ people had died during the tsunami and putting my arms around a bunch of Hindu pilgrims and a Sadhu who had come to take a holy dip to wash away their sins. They wanted to take photos with me so I embraced them and prayed for them at the same time. I felt that it was a prophetic moment pointing to a tsunami of salvation for this community.

* Receiving royal treatment and special offerings from the churches in Andhra Pradesh. These are the same churches we worked with closely during the early years of our ministry in India. They had started as poor house churches but now they are thriving, growing churches reaching hundreds every week and soon thousands.

* The closing rally, receiving flower garlands and trophies. Hundreds crying out for the salvation of India.

A great big thank you to all those who helped make this possible.

Spicy Andhra Pradesh

Greetings from Andhra Pradesh. On Saturday we stood at the southern mosttip of India Kanyakumari. 1,000 people died in that area during the tsunami. Some hindu pilgrims & a Sadhu asked to stand with me to take some photos. I put my arms around them and prayed for them as the photos were being taken. I believe it was a prophetic moment. From there we traveled to Madurai and then to Bangalore. We had good prayer meetings in these places.Today we are with Timothy in Anantapur & tomorrow we will be in Hyderabad. Pray for the spirit of idolatry, caste discrimination, corruption, and witchcraft to be broken off the lives of the people. Pray for the team for continued strength & anointing. Karnal Revival

I just received a phone call from Pastor Joshua in Karnal and revival has broken out there.

There church hall we just dedicated last year is already too small with overflow crowds. We need to construct a large shed outside immediately to accomodate the people. Please pray for this as we don't have funds for this right now.

On Sunday, there was a mighty move of the Holy Spirit and many people received the spirit's fire for the first time. At every service at least twenty new people attend and nearly all of them are accepting the Lord on the spot and then come back with testimonies of how God is working in their lives.

The pastor's biggest concern now is how to shepherd all the people and for a large shed.

We have enough land but we need to construct the shed as early as possible.

This move is a fulfillment of many prayers and the vision which God gave us for this area. It is so exciting to see it coming to pass before our very eyes. This same pastor was so discouraged just two years before that he seriously thought about leaving the area. Thank God we could encourage him and pray for him at that time and he perservered to see this great revival.

Thank you for standing with us and especially for your prayers.

Blessings,
Scott

Warm Gujarat!

Hi Prayer Partners.

I am writing you from Baroda, Gujarat and it is quite a difference from Sunday when we were freezing in Kashmir. Now,we do not even need a sweater and I am feeling warm withmy long sleeve shirt on.

Yesterday, we traveled from New Delhi to Amjer, Rajasthan. We had a good prayer meeting there with Pastor David. The believers eagerly joined in to pray for the nation of India.

And today we drove 680 KM which took about 11 hours to reach here. We will have a prayer meeting here in just a few minutes and I am hoping to see a few friends in the city.

Tomorrow we will travel to Bombay (Mumbai) and after that to Goa.

We are enjoying our times of prayer, worship and fellowship in the vehicles although our backs and backsides are a bit weary of the long drive.

Kindly keep us in your prayers and continue to pray for a great harvest of souls in this land in Jesus' name.

Cyberabad City

Hello from Hyderabad, nicknamed Cyberabad due to its growing IT industery. We had a packed house last night for the prayer meeting. It was a powerful time and the church is growing rapidly. We ate the best bitayani in the world, along with chicken, butter masala. Soooo Good! We are on the way to Nagpur, and tomorrow we will travel to Jabalpur. The last several churches gave us offerings to help with our travel. It was timely & a blessing! Pray that the church of Jesus Christ in India would rise to the occasion, reach out & harvest, & disciple many souls for the Kingdom of God. Blessings, Scott & team

Stage 1 Complete

Jan 27, 2005

Dear Prayer Partners,

Stage 1 of our journey is complete. We reached New Delhi safely last night and we had a powerful prayer meeting with several hundred believers last night.

We survived the freezing temps & snowy mountain roads in Kashmir due to your prayers. Inspite of that, we had a great time of fellowship and prayer for that needy state.

In Jammu we had an evangelistic style prayer meeting with about 100 people and then in Jelendar, Punjab we had a wonderful meeting with about 400 people under a tent, inspite of the cold weather.

Today we will be traveling through Jaipur and reaching Ajmer, Rajasthan. We will be stopping there for the night and having a prayer meeting also. The next day we will be traveling to Baroda, Gujarat.

Please keep us in your prayers and pray for the nation of India.

Blessings - Scott & Team

Freezing Kashmir - Jan. 23, 05

Jan 23, 05

We have arrived safely in Kashmir & are looking forward to beginning our prayer journey! It is freezing cold here and there is snow on the ground. We are arranging a taxi to take us down to Jammu where we will meet some more of our team members who have driven up from Delhi. We hope to meet them this evening but the roads are not clear because of the snowfall. Please pray for the team as we travel along these roads for safety and for the people of Kasmir to recieve Peace in their hearts through Jesus. Kashmir has been a war torn state for decades (it is a border state to Pakistan). Blessings, Scott & Team
